** what an amazing show! the kills millions wooed everyone with their covers and original songs, playing 2 sets even! next up was living daylight and they rocked it for hours! celebrating reuben’s birthday, they busted out the intimate acoustic goodness and let us all know who’s boss! holding down the LATE NIGHT tip, second hand smoke wafted in and got down in an extended multi-band jam! it was so rollicking we had to send people home or they would have danced till the sun came up! what a friday night, yee haw! **

8pm, friday august 27th – the kills millions, living daylights & second hand smoke!

a thrashingly good time, this will be better than a punch to the face! featuring the rough and ready sounds of will coles, kamil wysocki, jordan stewart and dylan macgregor – come down and get your raunch on! this is pure edmonton ooze rock – the kills millions will live up to their name for sure! also featuring the late night sounds of Living Daylights and Second Hand Smoke, hot off of playing Brixx earlier in the evening – this will be one hell of a dance party! show at 8pm sharp! $6 for non-members – which gets you a year long membership – and $4 for members!

** a mind expanding art show indeed – we were lucky enough to be sonically serenaded by some amazing musicians, eye absorbed by all the inspiring art and the live painting of joe clarke, socially sinful with the wickedly friendly crowd, and generally gregariously good! the proper setup of our venue was well received and we look forward to all the future shows here! thanks to everyone who came and took part in art!! **

9pm, saturday august 28th – art+muzak: endless summer…

approaching it’s 5th birthday, the bohemian arty party is pleased to announce another engagement! set your tastes on stunned and join us for a celebration of amazing local artists, musicians, performers, volunteers, attendees and more! keeping it edmonton, with a nod to the absurd – we will have over a dozen participants cozying up into your brain and camping out for a night of multimedia! so join the bohemians and find out what all the hula hoop-lahs are all about! show at 9pm, free for members and super affordable memberships available at the door, please bring a donation for the edmonton foodbank if you can!

this month we’re proud to present beautiful visual works by:

  • Donna Langlois – displaying pieces of a spiritual depth, Donna will be showcasing some of her fabulous colourful pieces!
  • Joe Clarke – hot off his amazing opening for the Crystal Method – a very special treat, the famous man hisself Joe will be painting LIVE for your pleasure *during the show!* that’s right, live performance painting art created as you watch!!
  • Laurie MacFayden – soothing lines amid the chaos, Laurie will show a slower side of life in her beautiful works!
  • Mike Labriola – waxen relief, moments frozen in time, pastoral night scenes and more, Mike will be showing off his amazing nature photos!
  • Duncan MacDonnel – a surprise exhibit by our fabulous friend Duncan, we’re excited to see what he’ll bring us this time!!

  • NxNx – a shit-kickingly good time, these boys will drive your feet to dance and your hands to clap! get ready for an all out audio assault of funky licks, banging bass and vociferous vocals!
  • The Mystery Ponies – bring your bridle and be ready to go for an awesome audio ride! forget the spurs, the Ponies will have you neighing and shaking your mane on the dancefloor! boom!
  • Touch It and You Will Say OW! – from the devious minds of some of edmonton’s finest pipe smoking debonairs, bring your weird hats and attention for the boys of Touch It! combining madcap vocals with virtuoso keyboards and more, you won’t want to sit down for this!
  • sorry to anyone we may have forgotten who will be participating! er, we mean – surprise guests may surprise you!

    ** spelunking bass rhythms in cataclysmic syncopation, this evening was all about the excursions into jazz (hands?). with a range spanning double stand up basses to electric guitar to midi mapped joystick controllerism underlaying violin, spoken word and more – it was a night worth the rapt attention and excitement everyone showed! we’re excited to invite them back for a monthly celebration of the nuskool, so keep your ears peeled and get down cats! **

    7pm, sunday august 29th – avant en garde: a night of free jazz and improvisational madness!

    a special event getting us open on a sunday, avant en garde is one in a continuing series of audience particpatory experimental music nights. fostering a sense of daring, of flexibility in the fabric of performance – the bohemians are pleased to play host to the amazing stylings of: Duotet, FreeBass, Thom Golub & Aiofe Cavanagh collective! bring an open mind and a willingness to digress a moment down the path of tonal bliss… show at 7pm, $3 at the door with membership ($2 for a 1 year membership available at the door!), please bring a donation to the edmonton foodbank if you can!
